Description
We seek a dedicated Bilingual Counselor to join our non-profit client’s team and provide essential support to individuals and families in need. This position will be counseling domestic violence survivors, including Hispanic/Latino survivors with Limited English Proficiency (LEP). As a counselor, you will play a crucial role in offering counseling services, behavioral management, and psychotherapy to clients, focusing on crisis intervention, safety planning, resources, and the introduction of a survivor experiencing a therapeutic environment.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in social work or counseling required
- South Carolina LSW or LPC license
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Experience specializing in trauma-informed care
- Active membership in NASW or ACA
- A minimum of two years of direct counseling services, preferably in crisis intervention
- Possess a solid understanding of different counseling modalities and techniques, including group dynamics related to crisis intervention
- Understanding intimate partner violence and its effect on survivors and their children
- Skilled in working with sensitive issues and committed to respecting the confidentiality and privacy of client information
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing with staff and clients
- Familiar with other professional community human services programs and resources
- Ability to handle emergency/crisis situations in an independent and professional manner
- Must have a valid South Carolina driver’s license, a vehicle to be used for work-related travel and vehicle insurance

Pay: $48,242.00 - $54,750.00 per year ($29-$31/hr)
