Counselor (LSW or LPC)

We seek a dedicated Counselor to join our non-profit client’s team and provide essential support to individuals and families in need. As a counselor, you will play a crucial role in offering counseling services to clients, focusing on crisis intervention, safety planning, resources, and the introduction of a survivor experiencing a therapeutic environment.

Requirements:

• Master’s degree in social work or counseling required
• South Carolina LMSW/LISW or LPC license
• Experience specializing in trauma-informed care
• Active membership in NASW or ACA
• A minimum of two years of direct counseling services, preferably in crisis intervention
• Possess a solid understanding of different counseling modalities and techniques, including group dynamics related to crisis intervention
• Understanding intimate partner violence and its effect on survivors and their children
• Skilled in working with sensitive issues and committed to respecting the confidentiality and privacy of client information
• Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing with staff and clients
• Familiar with other professional community human services programs and resources
• Ability to handle emergency/crisis situations in an independent and professional manner
• Must have a valid South Carolina driver’s license, a vehicle to be used for work-related travel and vehicle insurance
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
