Description
The Clinical Flow Coordinator is a registered nurse (RN) responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective flow of patients through the clinic. This role involves coordinating daily activities on the clinic floor, managing patient schedules, and working closely with clinical and administrative staff to optimize patient care. The Clinical Flow Coordinator plays a key role in maintaining a smooth operational environment, ensuring that patient needs are met promptly, and supporting the overall function of the clinic.

Essential Functions:
- Patient Flow Management:
- Oversee the daily operations of the clinic floor, ensuring smooth and efficient patient flow.
- Coordinate patient appointments, room assignments, and staff schedules to minimize wait times.
- Monitor patient progress throughout their visit and adjust schedules to accommodate changes.
- Staff Coordination:
- Collaborate with other staff to ensure proper patient care and clinic flow.
- Provide direction and support to clinical staff to maintain an organized and efficient environment.
- Assist with staff assignments and reassignments based on patient volume and clinic needs.
- Quality Assurance:
- Ensure patient care activities comply with clinic policies, procedures, and standards of care.
- Monitor patient satisfaction and address any issues or concerns promptly.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to developing best practices.
- Communication:
- Serve as the primary point of contact regarding patient flow and operational issues.
- Facilitate communication between departments to ensure coordinated care.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient flow, staff assignments, and clinic activities.
- Prepare reports on clinic performance metrics, such as patient wait times and staff productivity.
- Assist with implementing electronic health records (EHR) and other documentation tools.
- Clinical Support:
- Provide direct patient care as needed, including triage, assessment, and treatment.
- Assist with procedures, patient education, and discharge planning.
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and other safety standards.

Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in nursing (AND) plus relevant experience; Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) preferred.
- At least three (3) years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in primary care or outpatient settings.
- Active South Carolina nursing license (RN).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in using EHR systems (Athena preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work well under pressure.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and knowledge of HIPAA regulations.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- BLS/ACLS certification.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.
