Description
The Receptionist (Office Assistant) serves as the first point of contact for callers, visitors, and donors, providing a welcoming and professional experience. This role supports daily office operations by managing communications, handling administrative tasks, and assisting with donation processing. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer and direct incoming calls using a multi-line phone system in a courteous and timely manner.
- Greet and assist visitors and donors with professionalism and warmth.
- Make outgoing calls to support scheduling and organizational needs.
- Sort and distribute donations to shelters and community staff.
- Pick up and process daily mail, including monetary contributions in accordance with procedures.
- Prepare and ship donated items such as cell phones and office cartridges.
- Provide general administrative support, including data entry, typing, and acknowledgment letters.
- Maintain clean and organized shared spaces, including the reception area and common rooms.
- Participate in trainings and support additional tasks and projects as assigned.

Maintaining a valid driver’s license and a driving record that aligns with the organization’s standards is also essential.
