We are recruiting for a Rapid Re-Housing Advocate in the Columbia, SC area.

As a Rapid Re-housing Advocate, you will directly help survivors of intimate partner violence.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct outreach to inform intimate partner violence survivors of this program.
  • Assist intimate partner violence survivors in obtaining safe, secure, scattered-site housing for themselves and their dependent children.
  • Assist clients in conducting needs and strengths analysis with goals, objectives, and timelines for achievement.
  • Provide case management services, crisis intervention and prevention, and make referrals, act as an advocate for clients.
  • Facilitate program participants’ access to community resources such as vocational rehabilitation, health services, childcare, transportation, food, and employment opportunities.
  • Offer early intervention and case management services for children in the housing program.
  • Coordinate or present life skills programs and assist clients in achieving competency in decision making.
  • Encourage and foster independence and self-sufficiency as program participants achieve their goals.
  • Complete required notes, case summaries, intake forms, service plans, exit evaluations, summaries, and other documentation with a high degree of accuracy and timeliness.
  • Perform job functions in compliance with policies and procedures and grant requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in social or behavioral sciences or a related field of study, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or work experience.
  • Understanding intimate partner violence and its effect on survivors and their children.
  • Ability to handle emergency/crisis situations in an independent manner.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation to be used for work-related travel, and adequate vehicle insurance.
  • Obtain and maintain Victim Service Provider (VSP) certification.
