Position Summary:

 

Provide peer support group counseling to survivors of intimate partner violence residing in the community.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Receive community peer support group referrals, assess for IPV services.
  • Facilitate a group session on a weekly basis for a period of 1 ½ hours.
  • Maintain records of group attendance, group forms, and monthly family violence statistics.
  • Input direct service and collateral time into client database management system in a timely manner.
  • Attend twelve (6) hours of Victim Service Provider (VSP) training each year to remain in compliance and active status as a VSP.
  • Attendance at required clinical group meetings.
  • Perform other duties as required.

 

Qualifications:

 

Required:

  • Master’s degree in social work and/or counseling (LPC).
  • Experience in trauma-informed group work and group dynamics.
  • Direct service experience working with survivors experiencing IPV.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the issue of IPV.
  • Training in individual, family, and group theory and dynamics.
  • Ability to relate in a non-judgmental, supportive manner to individuals and groups with multiple problems.
  • Possession of a valid South Carolina driver’s license and adequate personal vehicle insurance.

 

Preferred:

  • Maintenance of SC SW/LPC licensure status & credentials and active membership in NSAW/ACA.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the culture of the community/county/city.
  • A vehicle to be used for work-related travel and vehicle insurance.

 

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Moderate to loud noise level
  • Able to work under regular, moderate levels of stress
  • Regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds

 

Work Schedule: Thursdays at 6 pm-7:30 pm
