Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Inside Sales / Estimator to support our fabrication and processing operations. This role is responsible for quoting custom and repeat work, performing detailed takeoffs from drawings, and working closely with customers and production teams to ensure jobs are accurately scoped and priced.
This position is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in metal fabrication and distribution who understands how drawings translate into shop-floor execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare quotes for fabrication and processing services
Quote jobs using customer-provided materials
Review blueprints and specifications for scope and manufacturability
Complete material takeoffs and labor estimates from prints
Coordinate with production and purchasing teams on routing and capacity
Communicate with customers to clarify drawings and job requirements
Maintain accurate quote and pricing records in ERP or estimating systems
Support order handoff to production for smooth execution
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of experience in metal fabrication or metal distribution estimating
Strong blueprint reading and takeoff experience
Knowledge of multiple metal types including carbon, stainless, aluminum, alloys, and tool steel
Familiarity with fabrication and processing services such as waterjet cutting
Strong organizational, math, and communication skills
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, detail-driven environment
